Positivity

To see reality clearly and then look for the space in which action is possible, without denying difficulty.

To see reality clearly and then look for the space in which action is possible, without denying difficulty.

Positivity is not a forced smile or a refusal to acknowledge difficult emotions. It is a balanced approach that allows us to name the problem and then ask: what can be done now?

A positive person does not minimise another person’s suffering. They offer realistic hope and room to move forward.

How do we live it?

  • Separate facts from assumptions.
  • Focus on the next possible step.
  • Acknowledge good behaviour clearly.
  • Do not make complaint the only form of conversation.
  • Contribute to a solution when you have something useful to add.

A question for reflection
